Switzerland’s Alena Marx and Czechia’s Vit Prindis brought the 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships to a close with two European victories in the decisive head-to-head Kayak Cross competitions in Oklahoma City, United States.

Marx won the Women’s Kayak Cross world title ahead of Australia’s Noemie Fox and Spain’s Miren Lazkano, while Prindis led an entirely European Men’s Kayak Cross podium, finishing ahead of Switzerland’s Dimitri Marx and Great Britain’s Sam Leaver.

European champions ready to defend every world title as Oklahoma City 2026 begins

The 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships get underway today at RIVERSPORT Rapids in Oklahoma City, United States, and will continue until Saturday, 25 July.

The International Canoe Federation has confirmed the participation of 256 athletes from 50 nations across five continents. The competition has additional importance as RIVERSPORT Rapids is the confirmed Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross venue for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Oklahoma City 2026 will also be the first competition to award Olympic Ranking points on the road to LA28.
