The results again underlined Europe’s depth across sprint canoe and kayak disciplines, particularly in crew boat events, where European nations collected seven medals from the six A finals completed on the opening finals day.

With several Olympic-class events still to come, Saturday’s programme promises another high-level battle between Europe’s traditional sprint powerhouses and emerging international contenders. The second finals day in Brandenburg is expected to deliver some of the strongest racing of the season so far, particularly in the individual kayak events and paracanoe debut races of the 2026 World Cup campaign.
